Bene Office Furniture selects Polycom and Microsoft as their Unified Communications Platform
Bene is a European company setting trends in office furnishing with its concepts, products and services. The Austrian firm is a leader in their market, a major player in Europe, and proud to create a forward looking office concepts.
The Austrian based office furniture designer made the choice to deploy Microsoft® Lync® 2013 for their 1,172 employees located in 35 countries around the globe. The solution was quickly adopted, and optimal for one-to-one communications. To increase their visual communications, allow meetings with several locations, and multiple participants, Bene wanted to integrate room video conferencing solutions and found Polycom® to meet all their requirements, and show the best value for their investment. Today Polycom video collaboration solutions are deployed in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the Middle East and Russia, and Bene plans to equip every office, France being next.
As employees around the globe are using the video collaboration solutions more, two significant benefits stand out: increased team efficiencies, and travel costs reductions. These were the primary reasons for the investments, and therefore bring great satisfactions to the executive team.

Today, many teams defy distance by working together with Polycom. An example is the HR department which is finding information sharing and training to be much easier with Polycom. Thanks to video, many locations can be trained at the same time, and as everyone is able to join, from anywhere, with any device via Lync, all the targeted employees can be reached, and the training sessions are recorded for future viewing for the ones who could not join at the time. Another is the project managers, who manage projects that are global, and with team members that are located in other offices. They can meet with their customers, in various locations via video, and are reducing their time in airplanes and airports. They are finding Polycom solutions to be a reliable and professional communication tool.
Polycom’s local partner Kapsch designed and implemented the project, which was delivered on time, and on budget. Nine months elapsed from the first day of project to the complete deployment for all the offices around the globe. The technical integration of Polycom and Microsoft lasted four months.
